Utility of Iiss in Composing Lyapunov Functions for Interconnections

چکیده

Decomposition of a system into smaller components sometimes allows us to analyze and design the system effectively based on properties of the components. The notion of inputto-state stability (ISS) has been widely used to characterize components that refuse linear-like properties. It is, however, still restrictive, and it cannot cover a lot of saturation mechanisms which often arise in practical systems. The notion of integral input-to-state stability (iISS) is a way to remove the limitation of ISS. This paper collects and illustrates some recent advances in the framework of iISS that allows us to broaden the class of nonlinearities we can address in analysis and design of interconnected systems by making use of Lyapunov functions.

Bilaterally Flexible Lyapunov Inequalities for Integral Input - to - State Stable Systems

This paper investigates stability of interconnection of integral input-to-state stable (iISS) systems. A new tool to verify the stability is proposed by focusing on Lyapunov inequalities each system is to satisfy in accordance with a small-gain-type condition. The purpose of this paper is to extend the technique of “flexible Lyapunov inequalities” developed previously for input-to-state stable(...

Bilaterally Flexible Lyapunov Inequalities for Nonlinear Small-Gain Method Covering iISS Systems

This paper develops a new tool to study stability of interconnection of integral input-to-state stable (iISS) systems. A sort of freedom is introduced into Lyapunov inequalities each system is to satisfy in addition to small-gain-type conditions. The purpose of this paper is to extend the technique of “flexible Lyapunov inequalities” developed previously for input-tostate stable(ISS) systems. T...

Capability and limitation of max- and sum-type construction of Lyapunov functions for networks of iISS systems

This paper addresses the problem of verifying stability of networks whose subsystems admit dissipation inequalities of integral input-to-state stability (iISS). We focus on two ways of constructing a Lyapunov function satisfying a dissipation inequality of a given network. Their difference from one another is elucidated from the viewpoint of formulation, relation, fundamental limitation and cap...

State-Dependent Scaling Characterization for Interconnected Nonlinear Systems–Part II: Small Gain Theorems for iISS and ISS Properties¶§

This paper is devoted to the problem of stability analysis for interconnected integral input-to-state stable(iISS) systems and input-to-state stable(ISS) systems. In the first part of this two-part paper, the state-dependent scaling problem has been proposed as a general mathematical formulation whose solutions explicitly provide Lyapunov functions proving stability properties of feedback and c...

Integral Input to State Stable systems in cascade

The Integral Input to State Stability (iISS) property is studied is the context of nonlinear time-invariant systems in cascade. Some sufficient conditions for the preservation of the iISS property under a cascade interconnection are presented. Those are first given as growth restrictions on the supply functions of the storage function associated to each subsystem, and then are expressed as solu...
